The above picture is HOFMANN developed automatic heat treatment of engine blocks and cylinder heads.

There are two parallel heat treatment lines. The charging machine picks up the full baskets from the pick up place and loads the heat treatment furnace from the left side. Afterwards the charge is cooled in a water basin. Then it is aged. The baskets are automatically unloaded on the right end of the street.

This plant optimized the production cycles, but what counts even more is the fact, that due to new constructions the heat treating time could be shortened significantly. Today our customer saves 27 % pure heat treating time per cycle. The good temperature accuracy within all the furnaces can be attributed to exact air flow. As a result our customer is pleased with reaching a more uniform hardness today.
